FITMENT / VEHICLE ID

Use the identifier that belongs to your market.

A standard export-market VIN is commonly 17 characters. Japanese domestic-market and some older vehicles may instead use a shorter chassis or frame number. Either can start a fitment request.

01 / IDENTIFIER

VIN or frame number?

VIN

17-character vehicle ID

Use the complete VIN exactly as shown on the vehicle or registration record. Letters I, O and Q are not normally used in a modern 17-character VIN.

FRAME

Chassis / model code

For many Japanese domestic-market vehicles, share the model and serial combination, for example ACU35-0008791. Keep the hyphen if printed.

02 / WHERE TO LOOK

Copy it from a primary source.

Use a clear photo when a character could be confused. A single incorrect character can route the request to the wrong vehicle configuration.

  1. 01

    Lower windscreen

Check the plate visible through the windscreen on many export-market vehicles.

  2. 02

    Door jamb or body plate

Look for the manufacturer label, firewall plate or stamped chassis area.

  3. 03

    Registration record

Compare the document with the vehicle before sending the identifier.

Fitment and privacy boundary

With your consent, a modern 17-character VIN is sent through this site to NHTSA vPIC for vehicle decoding, then compared with the published catalog as a candidate search. Frame numbers continue through private manual review. Neither path determines ownership or guarantees part compatibility without OE, year, side, connector and product-photo checks.
